Dr. Glenda MacLean

Dr. Natalie Ward

Dr. Natalie Ward was born and raised in Calgary. She went to Dalhousie University to earn an undergraduate degree in biology and immunology. From there, she pursued education at the University of Alberta. She returned home to complete her medical degree at University of Calgary. She joined Southport Family Practice in 2007. She has a passion for mental health and has expanded this area of interest in her practice. She also enjoys adolescent medicine and has enjoyed being the physician at Hull Services for the past decade. Family is very important to Dr. Ward and she loves spending time with her husband and their two sons. They enjoy travelling and spending time at their cabin.

Dr. Stephanie Kerwin

Dr. Kerwin was raised in Ontario, Alberta, and London England. She completed medical school at University of Ottawa in 2005. She moved to Calgary for her family practice residency and chose to stay in the west.  Dr. Kerwin has practiced community based family medicine in Calgary since 2008.  She enjoys the full spectrum of family practice including working with all ages of patients from infants to elderly people. She has a particular interest in mental health and chronic disease management.  When not working at Southport Family Practice, Dr .Kerwin can usually be found in the mountains with her family - hiking, biking or skiing. She is alternatively chasing or being chased by her three daughters through the Bow Valley. She has completed numerous running races including the Boston Marathon.

Dr. Brendan Vaughan

Dr. Vaughan was born in Calgary, but grew up on Vancouver Island, returning to Calgary to complete his medical degree and residency. He has now spent more time at Southport Family Practice than the MD he “temporarily” filled in for over 20 years ago. He is interested in shared decision-making in clinical practice, primary care system transformation and health care policy. Outside of the office, Dr. Vaughan will generally be found in the mountains with his wife and two boys.

Dr. Janet Tse

Dr. Janet Tse is from Hong Kong originally but spent the majority of her childhood in Calgary. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Calgary and completed her medical degree at the University of Alberta. She previously worked at the East Calgary Health Centre in Forest Lawn prior to joining Southport Family Practice.  She shared a practice with Dr. Catherine Heimbach until her retirement in 2023 and was the family physician for the Bridging the Gap program from 2015 to 2022.  She enjoys spending time in nature and travelling.
